Thankful Thursday
Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 07:17AM How could I not mention the beautiful weather in my weekly thanksgiving today? The past few days have been simply beautiful. Yesterday, as I walked the Beagle, approaching my house, I looked up at the canopy of gorgeous fall leaves and just took it all in. I didn't continue that for long; one really must look ahead to walk.
I'm thankful for music. I know I have said that before, but I love music of all kinds. I love it when an instrumental piece seems to sing out its melody and stir my mind's eye and pictures flood my brain. I don't know what it is about light and music, but when I walk and have classical music playing, the music seems to provide a shape to the light. I can't describe it. I also like it when someone has written a word that matches up with something in my own head. What a tremendous gift God has given us in music.
I am thankful for the study of God's word. I'm feeling stretched lately, and that's always good.
I am thankful for my home, for a little corner of the world where I can sink into my books and thoughts.
I am thankful for opportunities to serve others, especially this past Sunday when I had the privilege of seeing our friends' new baby girl. These friends are close in age with my daughter, and it reminds me that maybe some day I will have the joy of being a grandparent.
I am thankful for stories; the ones that roll around in my head, and the ones in books.
I am thankful for warm doggy snuggles in the morning along with my coffee. The simple things of life are precious.

Echoing you on these blessings...
I haven't visited for awhile-and I am catching up on some of your posts. Your blog is a blessing to me-and I am glad you write. I am glad you love the word of God. I am glad you love books and share what you are reading. I am using the book you used when you studied Psalms with our ladies in our winter session. I would not have known about that book if you had not written about it.
I hope you don't mind if I use that awesome phrase "spitting in the wind" sometimes-I just love that!
Thanks for sharing-this is one of my favorite places to visit.
