Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful this morning for the bright sunshine.  We've had a fair bit of rain and there's more in the forecast, so I'm happy about this last piece of sunshine.  All of the gorgeous leaves are now soaked and bedraggled-looking. The best part of the fall foliage has come and gone.  My backyard has a carpet of leaves now.

I'm thankful for my daughter's convocation tomorrow.  She'll be "officially" graduating with her Master's in English.  I'm thankful that we'll all be there with her to celebrate.

I'm thankful for my photography toys.  I got a macro lens recently and have been playing with it.  It brings a new meaning to colourful flowers.  It also brings on a sore back from bending over, and I've discovered how a heavy, long lens can throw off my focus.  I need a new tripod that will help with that.  But it can do cool things like this, which is a picture of the brush I use to clean my barbecue grill:

It looks much more impressive on full-screen on my computer.

I'm thankful my husband is home after being gone for three days.  I like my alone time, but I don't like being home alone overnight.

I'm thankful for the truth that God's mercies are new every morning.

Congrats to your daughter!

Very cool pic. I would never have guessed that it was a cleaning brush.

Kim, what a beautiful photo! There's beauty even in a wire brush. Congratulations to your daughter and have a great family time of thankfulness.
