Thankful Thursday
Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 10:53AM Right now, I'm thankful for Aspirin and ginger ale. Those two things have been my companions this week. My son was happy to share his cold with me. It has not been a huge thing, mostly a headache, fatigue and a little lightheadedness. I know, some of you are thinking I am already a little light in the head already...
The headache has been the worst part, because nothing seems to touch it. I cannot take Advil or anything with ibuprofen in it, because I am allergic to it. Tylenol never gets rid of a headache for me, so it's good old acetylsalisylic acid. The ginger ale is comfort food. Mommy always gave us ginger ale when we were sick. It's a cure all.
I'm thankful I'm feeling somewhat better today.
I'm thankful for a nap yesterday afternoon, although it was one of those naps when I woke up wondering where I was and what day it was, and that left me rather groggy for the remainder of the day.
I'm thankful for free resources on the internet. Nathan Bingham has an excellent piece about such things. They aren't as cheap as everyone believes. I frequently use the resources at Mongergism, Grace to You, and The Gospel Coaliation. I was convicted when I read his post about the possibility of giving a donation now and then. I am thankful for the amount of resources we have at our disposal.
I'm thankful for the example of Stephen, in Acts chapter 7, the way he looked toward Christ in his time of trial.

Hope you feel better soon, Kim. My daughter came down with a cold and I am fighting off something, I think. Vitamin C usually works for me.
Feel better soon!
I hope you are even better by now, Kim.
I love an afternoon nap when I'm sick or extra tired. I'm thankful that I am a good napper.
I'm allergic to ibuprofen as well. And ginger ale is also what I drink when I am sick--same comfort food idea. Hope that you are soon on the mend.
