Developing a language of prayer

Don't you just love the Psalms?  The Psalms were the first Scriptures I read as a ten year old girl, when I was given a Gideons New Testament and Psalms.  I was not a Christian at the time, but I could see immediately that these were words of prayer and praise.

I've decided that in an effort to be much more diligent in using Scripture in my prayer life, I'm going to read through the Psalms in 30 days.  This will involve morning and evening reading.  I plan to do this starting on August 1st, and doing it again in the month of September.

I found a 30 day schedule that is used in the Common Book of Prayer, and I wrote down the readings on bookmark so that I can stick it in my bible.  I am going to use the same bible for reading these so that I can write notes in them or mark passages, and indicate the date I read them.

The reading of God's word never returns void.  The Word of God is the means of the Spirit's voice to my soul.  I trust this reading will help me develop a more Scripture language of prayer.
