Status Report and a Thankful Thursday

This is a two in one post today.

Sitting:  at my desk, hearing a siren in the distance.

Drinking:  coffee.  It's my second of two cups.  I don't usually have more than that.

Thankful:  that my son arrived home safely from Myrtle Beach.  He was there with some friends.

Preparing:  for the flurry of getting said boy ready for school.  He arrived home with a broken BlackBerry, and that means we have to deal with that.

Finishing:  The God Who is There.  This is such a great book.

Reading Next:  Always Ready by Greg Bahnsen.  Rebecca read this and posted excerpts and I have been planning on reading it for a while.

Anticipating:   getting my hair cut on Saturday.  I need a makeover, but a haircut will do.

Smelling:  late summer.  There is something about the smell of late summer.  Perhaps it is the decaying leaves.  I love late summer.  It means fall is coming!

Intending:  to get some corn today and get it ready for the freezer.  The sweet corn stands in my neighbourhood are up and running.

Hoping:  that the drought and the late spring frost didn't ruin the apple crop around here.  The cherries never produced.

Thankful again:  for my fellow blogging sisters who encourage me and sharpen me.

I'm glad Fall is coming too; it's my favorite time of year because along with it come sweaters, hot drinks, and evening fires.

I don't think you need a makeover. :)

Myrtle Beach? How neat! Praise the LORD for the gift of safe travel and safe return.

I have some DVDs of Bahnsen. I need to pull those out and give them a look.

I cannot wait for Fall. I am not a summer-gal at all. That Carson book has been on my Amazon wish list for a while.

I, too, am thankful for encouragement from other bloggers - including you!

I love late summer too! The hint of fall in the air is so tantalizing!
