I am thankful to have had the opportunity to see Keith and Kristyn Getty last night. It was a wonderful, intimate audience compared to the only other occasion I've had to see them. In 2011, I saw them at The Gospel Coalition Conference in Chicago, and while it was wonderful to have 7,000 voices sing "O Church Arise," there was something nicer about having only 400+ in a church sanctuary. We were much closer than we could have ever been at a conference setting, where the close seats are for the important folks.
In addition to playing some traditional Irish music, which I love, they did many selections from their new recording. They did a beautiful version of the song "Holy Spirit," with their violinist playing strains of "Gabriel's Oboe," which is a gorgeous song from the soundtrack of The Mission. That song is a favourite of mine.
This clip of "Holy Spirit" doesn't have the gorgeous violin, but it's a nice version, anyway, and the word are great. I'm so thankful for worship and fellowship.
