Blogger, heal thyself

Of course, it is the way things go.

On a week when an ordinary blogger writes about something, challening herself to do certain things, to respond in a certain way, to obey the Lord, she is presented with opportunities to apply the challenging teaching.

When she writes about wanting to learn to overlook an offense, one (or more) is presented to her.  This is where she must put her money where her mouth is and as as the young people say, "suck it up."

After wincing a bit, and telling myself that it is a glory to overlook an offense, I took pleasure in the new book I bought, Here I Stand, by Roland Bainton.  Then I ate some roasted pumpkin seeds.

Taking my own advice is occasionally uncomfortable, but the seeds were good.

I know. I know. This often happens to me when I speak of 1 Cor. 13 to my children and what love is. Then I act unseemly and am easily provoked. :(

I am glad you had the joy of a trip to a Reformed bookstore...wow! I would go crazy walking through one of those.

Love and hugs!

This post made me smile with recognition. It always happens, doesn't it?

Trisha and Rosemary, I'm glad I'm not the only one this happens to. Probably good reminders, though. Some of the best lessons hurt the most.
